Walter Lampl Sterling & Moonstone Swordfish Brooch with Tabby
The large eye of this exuberant leaping sterling swordfish is a moonstone. This dramatic and well-designed brooch has lovely detail in the fins and scales. Marked with a script WL in a shield and with the word STERLING. In addition to the sturdy pin stem with safety clasp, this brooch also has a clip finding marked TABBY STERLING PAT. APL FOR. Patents for the Tabby were awarded in 1941. The Tabby finding was designed to clip onto the metal zipper pull tab of a jacket or sweater. The Tabby can also be used when converting this brooch for use as a pendant.
Measures about 2-1/2” x 3-1/2".
