This beautiful necklace was created by Indonesian artist Devi Tana Hariman in the 1980s. Double strands of irregularly shaped apple-green jadeite natural stone beads are accented with hollow metal beads of gilded brass and finished with cylinder-shaped beads, also jadeite, at the back of the neck. The central element is also gilded brass, set with a dark green cabochon that tests positive for quartz or chrysoprase. The necklace is unused, in the artist’s batik-print box, just as it was purchased by members of the U.S. diplomatic corps in Jakarta in 1989.
Necklace length is 21-1/2 inches. The central element measures 2-1/2 x 2-1/4 inches.
Excellent vintage condition.
