1970s Native American 2 Strand Birds & Bears Hardstone Fetish Olive Shell Heishi Necklace
This wonderful necklace features 2 strands of hand carved hardstone fetishes in the shapes of birds and bears strung on small olive shell heishi. The longer strand has 25 fetishes, the shorter strand 23, for a total of 48. Each fetish is unique, varying in size, material used, and the positions of wings and tails. The stones include jasper, serpentine, onyx, and obsidian. Two bears and 2 birds are made of turquoise. The strands are gathered in handcrafted sterling cones and the finely made hook clasp is also handmade.
Necklace length is 29 inches. The longer strand drops 1 inch below the shorter. Fetishes range in length from 5/8 to 1-1/4 inches.
