1940s Walter Lampl Sterling Peacock Brooch Set
These wonderfully graceful and detailed peacocks curl to face each other and are made to be worn together or separately. Their hollow construction allows for a 3 dimensional look, with rich detailing of the tails. Each pin measures 10 grams (0,4 ounce), so they are light enough to wear on most fabrics, yet large enough to make a dramatic statement. They have a very rare mark - BY Lampl MADE IN MEXICO STERLING. This shows that they were made during World War II when Walter Lampl moved some of his production to Mexico because of the shortages of materials and workers in the U.S. Safety clasps hold well.
Measure 1-3/8 x 1-7/8 inches.
Excellent vintage condition. Normal patina of vintage silver has been left undisturbed.
